Selection of T.John College in Unnat Bharat Abhiyan (UBA) 2.0 Program

A flagship program of Ministry of Human Resource Development, Govt. of India, Unnat Bharat Abhiyan is inspired by the vision of transformational change in rural development processes by leveraging knowledge institutions to help build the architecture of an Inclusive India.

T.John college takes great pleasure in announcing that it has been selected in the 3rd list under UBA 2.0 program.

T.John college , department co ordinator for UBA, Dr. Trupti H Dandekar, explained the UBA scheme and organisation structure to the faculty members. T John College being selected as Participating Institute (PI) has selected a cluster of 5 villages: Anekal, Begur, Banerughatta, Chandapura and Jigani.

The action plan of T.John College for UBA includes: meeting the Panchayat Secretary, Gram Pradhan, BDPO, JE, meeting the elders, youth groups,  women groups, identifying one problem and provide  immediate solution.

The UBA listing will give a long way in providing the college visibility, by featuring in to the footprints of UBA and the CSR activities of T.John College.

Vittasandra Village Visit

Completion of Level 1 of UBA: Organisation of one day activity at Doddathoguru Village:

T. John College, Bangalore, organised one day activity programme on 30th March 2019 at Doddathoguru village, Gram panchayat and completed the level 1, of the Unnat Bharath Abhiyan project proposed by MHRD, Govt. of India. The main objective of organising this one day activity at Doddathoguru village, Gram panchayat office was to acquaint the rural masses about the water conservation and voting awareness. Students of T. John College, took pride in vigorously being a part of this activity. Student volunteers prepared charts with captions written on the local language (Kannada) and English, on Water Conservation and 49.P.

Along with this, students also performed street play, to create hyperconsciousness’ about the 49 P, Voting awareness, and the prevention of wasteful use of natural resources like water, in order to elevate the villagers. Folks and the students were also given refreshments during the activity sponsored by T. John College. This activity has been planned as an outcome of the Unnat Bharath Abhiyan guidelines (MHRD) Our sincere thanks to The Ministry of Human Resource Development, The Gram panchayat officials of Doddathoguru village, the management of T. John Group of Institutions and the Coordinators of Unnat Bharath Abhiyan project.

The session on the topic “UBA- Opportunities and Scope” is organized for all faculties of T. John College on 9th January, 2020. Purpose of the session was to sensitize all faculties to participate and contribute for the Rural Development under UBA Scheme. Dr. Trupti Dandekar, UBA Institute Coordinator explained about the Idea of UBA program and explained various options in which college can contribute to UBA in collaboration with MHRD.

She also explained how different proposals for Technology Development and Technology Modification under UBA program can be prepared. The process of review and acceptance for funding in UBA is also discussed during the session. Overall it was a nice orientation of Staff towards UBA scheme and motivation for working towards the same.
