Library and Information Centre

A library is a treasure-house of knowledge. A well-stocked library is an asset to the school, college, university or the neighborhood. The T John College of Pharmacy Library established in 2004. The Library has about 6,413  books and 106 Bound volume issues. The Library collection includes the Scientific CD’s, Scientific Journals, Periodicals and Newspapers. The library has open access system facility to the users and also provides reference services.


            The mission of the TJCP Library and Information Centre is support of T John Group of Institution's mission; to create and nurture learning and Knowledge based environment conductive to the pursuit of quality education to the users at the right time to educate which would transform a socially responsible generation or act on their professional values and beliefs.


To support to the institution's vision; to achieve excellence in delivering quality education of global standards, coupled with innovative practices using advanced technology like e-journals, e-books, latest editions, and expertise, transforming the student community into potential global leaders with accountability to meet the social, national and dynamic global challenges.

  1. Eligibility for the Library Membership

All Students, faculty members and administrative staff of the T John College of Pharmacy are eligible to obtain Library membership.

  1. How to become a library member?
  • Library Membership Form will be issued in the TJCP library and in the TJCP office between the working hours.
  • Submit the membership form to the Librarian along with 2 stamp size photographs (B Pharm. and D students) and 3 stamp size photographs (M Pharm.  Students).
  • Faculty shall get a membership from librarian along with 3 stamp size photographs. 
  1. Circulation Policy
  • Borrowing facilities are given only to the member of the library against the Borrower’s Ticket / card.
  • Three Books are issued to Faculty members for the period of one month.
  • Two Books are issued to students for the period of 7 days.
  • Three Books are issued to M Pharm. Students for the period of 7 days.
  • New Books can only be issued after technical processing has been completed.
  • Reference books, periodicals may not generally be issued except with the written permission of the librarian.
  • The members shall be allowed to use reference books only after submitting their ID card.
  • No faculty/student can take two books of the same title and author.
  • The librarian shall have the power to refuse the issue of a book to any member or he/she can recall any book without assigning any reason thereby.
  • Document and physical presence of the borrower is mandatory for renewal.
  • Documents will be renewed only if there are no reservations.
  • In case of reserved document, same will be allotted to the borrower foremost on the reservation list.
  • Renewal of the document will be done before the due date.
  1. Over Dues Charges
  • If books are not returned/renewed on the due date, an overdue charge of  Rs. 2.00 per day will be charged for first 7 days, after 7 days Rs. 5.00 per day will be charged.
  • All members should return the books borrowed from the library before they proceed for a long period of leave. Borrowers will be held responsible for any damage or mutilation of the document noticed at the time of returning.
  • Members should return all the library books and cards while taking no due certificate from the library.
  • If a member does not pay the library dues, the privilege of borrowing books may be suspended till he/she pays the requisite amount.
  1. Loss of Books /Damage

In case any book is lost /damaged by the member, the member shall replace the book or pay double the cost of the lost book with Rs. 50/- processing fees and due fees. If one book is lost in the volumes of the set, the reader has to replace the whole set.


The members are responsible for the Borrower’s Cards issued to them. In case of loss of the Borrower’s Card, the borrower must report immediately to the Librarian. The user must pay Rs.40/-for each duplicate Borrower’s ticket.

  • Every person who enters the library should sign the gate register in token of his/her acceptance to adhere to the rules of the library. No personal belongings shall be allowed except for papers and notebooks.
  • The readers should maintain silence within the library premises. No reader is allowed to sleep in the library premises.
  • Eating/loud conversation/chewing and similar objectionable acts are not allowed and are strictly prohibited in the library.
  • It is in the interest of the borrower to verify at the time of borrowing, whether the document is in good condition or not, and report damage/mutilation if any, to the library staff.
  • The Library staffs are authorized to check any of the user at any point.
  • Readers must be aware and adhere to the Photocopy right act 1957 and Plagiarism, before duplicating any reading materials of the Library either in full or portion.
  • Healthy suggestions, feedback are acceptable on library services and resources for further improvements.

TJCP Library contains numerous collections for providing better service to students, faculties these materials are selected on the basis of informational, educational, and recreational value. These materials are selected in compliance with the mission and goals of the Institute and library as well.

Digital Library Service: Online access to the e-resource like HELINET, NDL etc.

User Awareness Program: Library provides an orientation for new students at the beginning of the academic year, on the other hand, any user desiring to know more about library resources and service or to learn how to keep and use a particular resource like books, e-journals, databases etc. are given training from library staff.

Reference Service: The Library maintains a separate reference collection consisting of encyclopedias, dictionaries, directories, handbooks, etc. Reference books are marked  “Reference Only” The Reference Section facility is extended to the students, staff and faculty of the Institute from 08.30 a.m. to 3.30 p.m. Readers may approach the Reference Desk for any information, assistance or query.

Periodical Service:
A good number of journals and magazines both technical and general in nature are subscribed to the library. Latest issues will be displayed as and when received.

CD-ROM service: 
Our CDs accompanied with purchase books and journals, some complementary CDs, and Project CDs and DVDs. CDs will be provided to refer through library systems as well as issued home.
