NATIONAL CONFERENCE ON POST GST- EMERGING ISSUES & CHALLENGESDate:08-12-2017
T John Institute of Management & Science (TIMS) organized a one day National Conference on December 8th 2017 on “Post GST- Emerging Issues and Challenges”. In the auspicious occasion of the inaugural session of the conference in the presence of dignitaries such as Chief Guest- CA.Nithin Mahadevappa, Partner in NNR&Co., Chartered Accountants, Key Note Speaker- Dr. Rajasekar, Director, Indian Academy School of Management Studies, Guest of Honour- Mr.Eldo Iype, Commercial Director, Tentacles Aerologistix Pvt Ltd., and presided by Dr. Thomas P. John (Chairman, T John Group of Institutions). The conference was attended by industrialists, academicians, research scholar and students from various parts of India.
Principal, TIMS Ms.Shijimol E.A, welcomed the gathering by stressing on the importance of GST. In the key note address, Dr. Rajasekar gave an insight on various aspects of GST. He also illustrated the advantages and disadvantages of GST, its issues and challenges. The Chief Guest, CA. Nithin Mahadevappa, shared his experience on GST and explained about the impact of GST on Indian economy. He also explained concept of input tax credit and its importance in GST. The Guest of Honour, Mr.Eldo Iype spoke about how GST is affecting aviation industry and advocated on the implementation of GST in a pleased manner. Ms.Swarnanalatha, HOD and Conference Convener, explained about how we have arrived at the topic and the schedule of the conference. Dr. Thomas P.John spoke on influence of habits in human life and how mind control helps to lead a positive life. Prof. Rajni Gupta, Co-Convener of the Conference rendered vote of thanks for the inaugural session.
The conference then continued with Technical Sessions in two parallel tracks wherein the delegates presented their research papers. The Track1- was lead by The Chair person Dr. Sahana Madhan, (Head of Academics., BMS Centre for Education) and moderator Ms.Rajni Gupta & Ms.Saritha (Assistant Professor, TIMS) with 13 participants. Track2- Mr.Manjunath.N (Assistant Professor, First Grade College) and Moderator- Dr.Shailesh & Ms.Manisha Kumari (Assistant Professor, TIMS) with 16 paper presenters.
The conference concluded with valedictory session which was chaired by Dr.Aparna Rao, Director, Global Institute of Business School, and Bangalore. The Track chairs explained a brief about the research presentations conducted in the respective tracks. Mr. Rajesh.K, Research Scholar, Christ University and Mr.K.Sai Sravan Shivani, IBMR were received the Best paper award in the I and II track respectively. In the session Dr. Aparna Rao explained the importance and benefits of research for students and faculty members to achieve their goal in academic and professional life.
