Investment Awareness and Personal Financial Planning


On 5.07.2021, Department of Commerce in association with IQAC conducted a guest lecture on “Investment Awareness and Personal Financial Planning” under SEBI banner for UG & PG students. The programme is co–ordinated by Ms. Akshatha, Assistant Professor in Department of Commerce. The guest speaker was Ms.Rekha Ramanthan, qualified BFSI Trainer for all major Banks.

The session started with the warm welcome of the speaker by Ms. Sudha, student of BCOM IV Semester. The speaker started the talk with the introduction of Investment avenues and explained various techniques to create own personal portfolio, by describing advantages of each investment avenue. This helps the individual to go for planning their own investment strategy.

The speaker gave details of investment in mutual funds and explained the best investment schemes in mutual fund and the return and applications of it for doubling the income. Students learnt the practical idea of investing in various investment avenues and Derivative market instruments. It was then followed with the question and answers where the speaker clarified all the doubts of the students. The session ended with the vote of thanks proposed by Ms. Anusha BCOM IV Semester.
