Christmas Celebration at T John Group Of Institutions


Yuletide, ushering in the birth of Jesus Christ, is a season of celebrations which culminates with the New Year. A time to rejoice and bask in the glory of the Lord along with family and friends. A religious and cultural extravaganza which brings people of different faiths together in our land of diversity. This festive season brings to our minds beautiful and tastefully done decorations on the Christmas tree, snowflakes and reindeers, Santa Claus, gifts, plum cakes and pies, Cribs, Carols and Carnivals.

The belief of everlasting life, God’s endless love, joy of giving and standing up for the downtrodden form the underlying theme on this joyous occasion. The year’s greatest feast tickling the palette of everyone, heavenly music that transports us to an exotic paradise, sparkling and glittering Christmas trees that make us to stand and admire are all part of the week long celebrations worldwide.

The tradition of celebrating Christmas in T John is to relive and recreate the gala and magical moments of the birth of the Son of God. The official hostess Ms. Sandhya took the audience through the different events that were lined up.

This year’s celebration is special as it marks the first year anniversary of our happiness department. The genesis of the happiness department began exactly an year ago with the seeds sown on Dec 23, 2017.The distinguished guests for the occasion included the Chairman Dr Thomas P John, Rev. Father Eldo John, Mr. Vishwanath, Deputy General Manager- Infrastructure and Services, Manipal Global Education Services and all Principals of the different colleges.

 The programme started with the introduction speech by Ms. Sunita Ramaswamy which was followed by the prayer sung by Dr. Kiran Vazirani and Ms. Sandhya P. The Gospel according to Luke’s Chapter 2 was read by Ms. Sunita Ramaswamy and soon after, Father Eldo John (Chaplin- Mor Augen Chapel and Director- MJSSA Bangalore Diocese) addressed the gathering and shared the importance of giving.Carols were sung by T John College of Nursing, T John College of Pharmacy, T John Institute of Technology and T John Institute of Management and Science. Christmas would be incomplete without good old Santa Claus. So let’s have some fun with the St. Nicholas of T. John Group.

Christmas spirit is to spread happiness, joy and sing along and it is also a chance to share happiness with the underprivileged. About 20 children from the trust Sri Sai Sneha Samasthe were invited to partake in the festivities. Few students showcased their talent and Gift hampers were given to them.


Our visionary leader, Dr. Thomas P. John- Chairman, T. John Group of Institutions spoke on the steady growth and rise of the institution and stressed on the need to be focussed and tweak the mind to align with the goals.


The RH score is a culmination of every department’s efforts throughout the year to not just reach the established standards of performance but to exceed them. This year the coveted award for the highest RH score has been bagged by the T. John College of Nursing with an outstanding score of 89.4 and the certificate was awarded to Ms. Josephine Cynthia, Principal- T. John College of Nursing by the Chairman.

 “Charity begins at home” and the students and staff of NPS came together to share their joy with the support staff of T. John Group of Institutions by distributing gifts.

The programme concluded with the vote of thanks by Dr Kiran Vazirani. The curtains came down with the Prayer by Father Eldo John who sought the blessings of the Lord in all the endeavours of the group of institutions.

A sumptuous lunch prepared by the Department of Hotel Management staff and students was the ideal feast for Christmas that was truly enjoyed by the gathering.
