T. John Group of Institution became the trendsetter with the introduction of a department wholly dedicated to happiness initiated by Dr. Thomas.P.John, Chairman, TJGI. Happiness Department of T. John College, conducted Fun Week on 14th to 18th October 2019, where students were given different themes such as Day 1- Twinning, Day 2 – Flash back, Day 3 – The Villain, Day 4 – Halloween, Day 5 – Vote your Hero. Students actively participated and dressed up according to the theme. The campus was fun filled with joy and students cherished and will be cherishing the moments as a part of their college life.


A Guest lecture on the topic ‘DEMENTIA’ was held at T. John college of Pharmacy on 12th October 2019. The guest lecture was delivered by Dr. Thomas Gregor Issac, senior resident, DM, MBBS, Ph.D, MD psychiatry, NIMHANS, Bangalore. Students of Pharm.D course and final year B pharm attended the guest lecture.

Students of Final year B.Pharm visited STRIDES PHARMA SCIENCE Ltd, Bangalore on 12th October 2019. Headquartered in India, Strides Pharma Science Limited is one among the world's largest manufacturers of soft gelatin capsules. Strides has a global manufacturing footprint with seven manufacturing facilities spread across three continents, including four US FDA approved facilities and two facilities for the emerging markets.

GUEST TALK: 04-10-2019

On 4th October 2019, Dr. Goutham, Clinical Pharmacologist, HCG Cancer, delivered a guest lecture to Pharm.D students on the topic ‘Roles and Responsibilities of Clinical Pharmacologist in Indian Health Care System’. The interactive guest lecture was very useful to the aspiring students. The lecture provided a practical insight into the lifesaving role of a clinical pharmacologist in hospitals, and also future challenges and responsibilities of the job. The talk also stressed upon the great responsibility before the pharmacist in preventing the misuse of antibiotics in hospitals. The guest lecture was co-ordinated by Ms. Annmary Pious, faculty member, TJCP.

John Institute of Management & Science organized a Guest Lecture on 3rd October, 2019 between 11:00am -01:00pm at Room No: 202 on “Hands-On Experience onto GST Returns & IT Returns” for the III MBA & V B.Com. students. The session was conducted by Mr. Sathish H Srinivas, Co-Founder, Bluepeak Advisers Pvt Ltd, Bangalore.

Ethnic Day Celebration 2019: 01-10-2019

Ethnic day was celebrated in TIMS on October 1st 2019.The celebration began with the concept of Spectrum week where different color codes like Blue,Green,Yellow, White were followed on each day by students and faculties prior to ethnic day. Students of different batches depicted the tradition and culture of different places on ‘Ethnic Day’ celebrations. Each class choose different state as their theme and decorated their classes accordingly and also had arranged food for all with the specialties of each state.


T.John Institute of Management & Science (TIMS) had organized a career and personality development training in association with Gillette to all the UG and PG students on 24 September 2019. The session started with welcoming the trainer, Principal and HOD on to the dais. The speaker for the session was Sabina Juliet, specialist in soft skills and communication. The objective of the training was to help the students of all years to gain knowledge on ‘How to develop a smart & confident personality’ through a series of activities. Also, they conducted a Preliminary Job Test for Final Year students there by the topper will be given an opportunity for the internship opportunities and will be invited to participate in the Grand Finale contest.


T.John Institute of Management & Science (TIMS) had organized a pledge taking session “Pledge for life – Tobacco free youth” on 24 September 2019 to spread the awareness of consequences of consuming tobacco and its related products. Everyday more than 5500 children start using tobacco which leads to horrible diseases like cancer and even death. It ruins the life a person and their career. The actual statistics and facts were shown to students to educate and bring the change in them. Anti-tobacco video was shown to students where in which the Dr. Pankaj Chaturvedi, Cancer Surgeon, Tata memorial hospital, was specially mentioning the young children are getting addicted towards it. His message was “Be aware. Don’t start it because quitting is next to impossible”. Dr. Shailesh G, Principal, TIMS addressed the gathering and suggested “Say No to Tobacco” and protect their lives to lead a happy life.

Industrial Visit to Garuda Polyflex Foods Pvt. Ltd. : 24-09-2019

B.Pharm 5th sem students visited Garuda Polyflex Foods Pvt. Ltd. on 24th September 2019. GP Foods Pvt. Ltd. is a FMCG company established in 2011 and situated in the Bommasandra industrial area, Bangalore. The unit has manufacturing facility for wafer sticks and jelly drinks. The company is licensed by FSSAI. Students visited the manufacturing area and learnt about several imported machinery and equipments from Europe and the manufacturing process. Students also learnt about the 5S and GMP practices followed in the industry and its importance in maintaining proper hygiene. Students were shown a video film showcasing the entire manufacturing process of the plant. Queries from students were answered by employees of the firm. Mrs. Blessy Jacob, faculty TJCP coordinated the visit.

Industrial Visit to Rifa Impex: 24-09-2019

Students of B.Pharm 3rd semester visited Rifa Impex on 24th September 2019. Rifa Impex situated at Devanahalli, Bangalore is an 18 year old export company dealing with export of vegetables and fruits on a large scale. It also exports frozen chicken and other food items. It is the largest exporter of vegetables in Bangalore. The company supplies to many seven star hotes in Maldives. Students had the opportunity of interacting with the founder of the company Mr.Khalid Hassan. Students had a great experience learning about the venture and endeavour behind this entrepreneurship. The visit was co-ordinated by Bhawna Mishra of TJCP.
