Emerging hospitality trends with Current trends and future of Food and Beverage service sector: 11-08-2021

On 11th August 2021 all our BHM students from 6th Semester attended a Guest lecture from BYG BREWSKI which is conducted by Mr.Amit and Mr.Ritesh AGM’s from Hennur branch and Sarjapur Branch. They session was on “Emerging hospitality trends with Current trends and future of Food and Beverage service sector”, In continuation to that Mr. Manna Deb , Deputy HR manager was Conducting a question-and-answer session which is performed as clearing student’s doubts from their mind about the future status of Hotel Industry.

Front Office Operations and Reservations: 12-06-2021

The Department of Hotel Management – T.John College organized a guest talk (Webinar) on 12-06-2021 for the current 4th semester students. The topic for the day was “Front Office Operations and Reservations”. Mr. Manivannan Rajendran, Front Office Manager and Ms. Manisha Singh, HR manager from Accor Hotel were the respected speaker for the above topic.

Dum Ka Dum –A Celebration for World Poultry Day: 10-05-2021

As an initiative towards celebration of “World Poultry Day”, Department of Hotel Management and IQAC in association with USA Poultry and Egg Export council India, organized a gourmet webinar on 10th May 2021. The Objective of the webinar was to educate and inspire young culinarians and endorse them with the skill of preparing classic Indian dishes with US poultry. Chef Ajay Chopra was the Guest speaker for the session.


Department of Hotel Management & IQAC in association with AECC Global and Le Cordon Bleu organized a webinar on career guidance for the students of Department of Hotel Management, on 7th May 2021. Le Cordon Bleu is a world-renowned network of educational institutions dedicated to providing the highest level of culinary and hospitality instruction through world class programs and AECC is an award-winning team helping international students study abroad.

Culinary Workshop: 18-02-2021

T. John College- Department of Hotel Management has conducted a Culinary Workshop on South Indian Cuisine on February 18, 2021. The key person of the day was Chef. Palani Murugan. He is one of the most celebrated faces in the hotel industry. As we all know that the South Indian cuisine is extremely diverse which represents four distinct regional styles: Tamil Nadu, Kerala, Karnataka, and Andhra Pradesh. Chef Palani Murugan demonstrated cooking methods of various South Indian dishes such as Paneer pepper soup, Drumstick soup, Madurai Kozhi, Chicken Chettinad, Ambur Biriyani, Mutton sukka, Allepey fish curry, Tender coconut milk kheer, etc. We all enjoyed live event with great enthusiasm. Not only we were able to see his cooking talent and expertism but also, we were privileged to taste the food that was prepared by him.

BHM visited Holiday Inn: 11-02-2021

The students of the current 1st semester BHM visited Holiday Inn, Bangalore on 11-02-2021. Holiday Inn is located along Seshadri Road across Bangalore Turf Club. Holiday Inn is the UK owned American brand of hotels and a subsidiary of Inter-Continental Hotels Group. Founded as a U.S. motel chain, it has grown to be one of the world's largest hotel chains, with 1,173 active hotels and over 214,000 rentable. Our students were well received by the HR Manager Mr. Priyaranjan and his team and took the students around the property and explained the functions of each department.

Department of Hotel Management at T John College organized a guest lecture for 1st semester students on 28-01-2021. The speaker of the day was Ms. Sruti Sahoo, Deputy Housekeeper from The Oberoi Bangalore. The topic of the day was “Amendments in Housekeeping operations in the present & Post pandemic period in Hotels”.
