CLUB WRITEUP: 19-07-2019

19th of July, 2019 marked as the beginning of the club activities for the academic year 2019-20. The Club Registration for all first and second year students of T. John College, for the odd semester commenced with the students enrolling themselves for the clubs of their choice. The clubs were as diverse as Cookery and Beverages Club, Managers Club, Yoga Club, IT Club, Sales and Marketing club, Literary Club, Photography Club, Modeling Club, Speech club, Theatre club, Dance Club, Music club, Readers club, General Knowledge club, Funds Management club, Art club, and Entrepreneurship Club.


Industrial Training for the teachers of BBA department: 13-05-2019

Industrial Training is to expose the teachers to actual working environment and enhance their knowledge and skill from what they have learned in the college. The value of developing stronger links with industry in the current economic climate is being realized more and more by higher education institutions. Increase input by employers in course development, students’ placement and the offering of “sandwich” option in many degrees stem from increasing awareness that it must be mutually beneficial to bring academic and industry closing together. Industry can influence the learning of to produce a potential workforce with the academic knowledge and flexibility they will require. The faculty of the Department of business administration visited Lam Square, a plywood and lamination factory.


ORGANIZATIONAL UNLEARNING TO LEARN NEW TEACHING METHODOLOGIES: 10-05-2019

The most important resource of any institution is the faculty members who impart knowledge and skills to the students and are also a value addition because of their roles as administrators. In order to improve upon the quality of this rich human capital, development programmes are organized and one such symposium was conducted by the Department of Business Administration of T John College. The main thrust of the programme was to develop the faculty on instructional technology, professional development that emphasized on their responsibilities as educators, mentors, researchers and administrators.


Guest lecture conducted through SKYPE : 09-05-2019

The Department of Business Administration had arranged a guest lecture for the students of BBA 6th Semester and B.com 4th Semester on “Entrepreneurship and Skill Development” on May 9th, 2019.


Yoga Club & Photography Club: 03-05-2019

Yoga Club Post assessment was conducted for all the students. They were told to perform Asanas & Pranayama. They were also asked to explain the benefits of the various Asanas.


Guest lecture on the world of investment for BBA and B Com students: 30-04-2019

The students of 2nd and 4th B Com as well as 6th semester students of BBA were initiated into the world of investment by Mr. V Prabhakar on 30th April, 2019 at the CTL seminar hall. Mr. V Prabhakar, is the founder of Ascent Capital Market, he has a rich experience in the financial sector and has worked with the Coimbatore Stock Exchange and the Bangalore Stock Exchange.


INDUSTRY VISITED: UNIBIC FOODS, INDIA, BENGALURU: 26-03-2019

The 6th and 4th semester BBA students went on a factory visit to the popular cookies manufacturing unit UNIBIC located off Tumkur road. The students had a glimpse of the state of the art facility at the factory. They observed that the Unibic cookie factory brought the science of food technology in the art of creating delicious cookies. The production house has the largest integrated cookie manufacturing plant in the country with 5 production lines and a capacity of 30,000 tonnes per year.


Essential Skills and Career Options: 16-03-2019

The Skill Development Centre of T. John College arranged a guest lecture on “Essential Skills and Career Options ” on 16th March 2019 for the final semester students of BBA and BCA department. The guest speaker was Mr. Adarsh Kumar, Vice President- Information Technologies, Meta-I Technologies. Mr. Kumar has over 20 years of experience in software and software product sales. An engineering graduate from Mangalore University, he started his career in 1997. He holds additional qualifications of Masters of Business Administration- Quality and is also a Certified Six Sigma Green Belt Professional. He is a professional toastmaster and is an active member of Business Network International at Bangalore.


Industrial Visit to Dairy Classic Ice Creams Private Limited: 28-02-2019

An industrial visit was carried out for 2nd semester BBA and B Com students of TJC on 28th February, 2019. The visit was to Dairy Classic Ice Creams Private Limited located at Harohalli on Kanakupara Road in the Karnataka Industrial Area Development Board. About 100 students along with 2 faculty members had the unique opportunity of visiting a fully automated ice cream plant and were enriched in the real exposure to the production unit.


Students of B.Com department organized a two day intra college sports event, “Caper” : 27-02-2019

The students of B.Com department organized a two day intra college sports event, “Caper” : a two day sports extravaganza which saw an overwhelming participation of more than 475 students from all the colleges across T. John Group of Institutions. The competition included an array of individual as well as team events. The participants braved the scorching heat and the blazing sun and participated with full sportsman spirit.
