This report summarizes about the 5th National conference which was held on 29th February 2020 at TJGI Auditorium. The conference was convened by TJCN on the theme, “New pathways in clinical nursing practice and research: Igniting a spirit of exploration”. This conference is organized with an intention to bring together academia, researchers, practitioners, and policy makers in the field of nursing through leveraging advanced information in clinical nursing and evidence based research.

Report on Lamp Lighting and Graduation Ceremony: 17-01-2020

The day, Friday 17th January 2020 will go down in the memories of T John college Of Nursing and T John School of Nursing with an extra feather in its cap, as we celebrate lamp lighting function of 2019 batch of B.Sc nursing and GNM students. The Lamp Lighting function for I year B.S.nursing and I year GNM as well as the Graduation ceremony for the 2015-2019 batch were observed on 17th January 2020 at 10.30 am at TJGI Auditorium no:2.

Aids Day celebration 2019: 02-12-2019

World AIDS Day is an international day dedicated to raise the awareness regarding AIDS.TJCN as a part of community service has organized a rally on 2nd December 2019, based on the theme “Ending the HIV/ AIDS epidemics: community by community”.At the beginning of the rally , TJCN Principal Professor Josephine Cynthia addressed the students ; followed by a brief speech . All the faculty members and students wore red ribbon as it is recognized as the symbol for AIDS awareness .Rally group was around 120 in number and comprised of I year BSc Nursing and GNM students as well as the final year BSc Nursing students.The students participated energetically and carried the placards displaying the messages to sensitise people about AIDS.

ETHNIC DAY REPORT : 30-11-2019

The students and faculty members of TJCN joined hands to celebrate and showcase our culture and tradition to everyone present on campus by celebrating Ethnic day on 30th November 2019 at Auditorium no : 2 TJGI


An induction programme is a significant process for bringing the new entrants into the institute and provides an introduction to the curricular environment .The newcomers and the parents were warmly welcomed by the faculty members. The induction programme began with registration on 17th september 2019 at 9.30 am.The students with great enthusiasm reported and registered themselves to the counter.

REPORT OF FLAMES – 2019: 01-08-2019

The Annual SNA Programme” Flames 2019” of T John College of Nursing was held in the college premises in a befitting manner from 01/08/2019 to 02/08/2019. This fest was organized with the objective to provide a platform for the students to showcase their talents with a competitive spirit. Students have actively participated in all the events and presented their work. The fest executed with a total of 21 events planned and organized at its best of quality. Apart from these many fun events like gaming, etc. were also organized. The winners were encouraged with certificates and medals for all the events. TJCN feels proud to organize such a successful event and would like to convey thanks to management and principal for their timely advice and cooperation for organizing successful Fest.

REPORT ON EYE CAMP: 29-06-2019

TJCN in collaboration with Agarwal’s Eye Hospital wrapped up the eye camp service successfully at Weaver’s Colony on 29/06/2019.The main attraction of the event were screening and referral service for the needy.4 Optometrist from Agarwal’s Eye Hospital together with 54 students from TJCN worked wholeheartedly to deliver the eye care service for more than 130 people in the colony. Undoubtedly the eye camp service could be concluded as a huge success.


A guest lecture was organized on 27/06/19 at 2pm for 2nd and 3rd year BSc Nursing students on “Technology addiction” .The resource person was Dr.Kannappa Shetty ,Psycho Social Consultant and Research Associate at Abhaya Hospital .He began the session with a self-screening among the students for Internet Addiction using Young’s Internet addiction Test .

“Exploring new insights and strategies in nursing education” : 21-06-2019

The department of TJCN successfully concluded State level Seminar on “Exploring new insights and strategies in nursing education” ,which was organized on 21/06/19 .In the inaugural session ,Professor Josephine Cynthia , Principal T John college of Nursing welcomed the gathering .


This report is based on the industrial visit organized by T John College Of Nursing on 26/03/2019 to Sakkalwara Community Mental Health center for 3rd Year Bsc Nursing Students .The visit aided the students to enhance their practical knowledge and to let them have an overview on the activities related to psychosocial rehabilitation including services like behavior therapy, social skill training , yoga, life skill training ,family work ,activities of daily living and so on .
