The Fashion Quiz Series Presents: 30-04-2021

Department of Fashion & Apparel Design had organized online quiz program from 30th April-2021- 3rd May-2021, the main objective of this program was to promote the significance of fashion industry among the younger generation. The 4 day quiz program had got very good responses from all over India and it was also good to see many students at UG & Pre-University level participating in the contest. E-Certificates were issued to all the participants after the program.


About the Event:- The Department of Fashion & Apparel Design conducted FDP program on 24th April 2021, about “Fashion Industry & Academia- a Global Perspective”. About the Speaker:- The Session’s speaker was Mr. G Somasundaram. He is graduated BBA VHNSN College, Virudhunagar, Madurai Kamaraj University. MBA Department of Management Studies, Madurai Kamaraj University. PG Dip in International Business Pondicherry University. Mr. Somasundaram have experience on Networking skill – connected with more than 50 educational, Skill Development organizations in South India. Learning & Development programs of Gokaldas Exports Ltd (a division of Blackstone Inc, MNC & Jockey India) and conducted Campus Placement Drive for more than 5 years. Associate with entrepreneur development & innovative incubation initiatives of Apparel Innovation centre of NIFT TEA under AIM of GoI. Bangalore.

World Heritage Day-2021: 21-04-2021

T. John College Celebrated World Heritage Day on 21st April 2021. The event was organised by the Department of Fashion and Apparel Design and Cultural Committee. World Heritage Day is observed every year on April 18, to preserve the human heritage and recognize the efforts of the organizations working for it. World Heritage Day is a collective effort of the communities in the world to do what is necessary. This year's theme for world heritage is ‘Complex Pasts: Diverse Futures’ which is set by the International Council of Monuments & Sites (ICOMOS). To show up solidarity to Indian cultural heritage the Staff of T. John College took part in a cultural catwalk, representing various states and their traditional attire.

Report on EBSCO training session – 31.03.2021: 31-03-2021

T. John Center for Advanced Social Science Research, has organized faculty training program on EBSCO online journal access and utilization on 31.03.2021, (Wednesday) between 10.00 a.m. and 12.00 p.m. at CTL seminar hall. Mr. M. S. Srinivasa, Training Manager, EBSCO was the Resource person. He explained how to create individual login to access the EBSCO business elite resource through which Faculty can seamlessly access the online resources from anywhere in India. Implementing NEP 2020 in Higher Education Institutions: 24-03-2021

The Department of Management Studies in association with IQAC conducted a webinar on the topic “Implementing NEP 2020 in Higher Education Institutions” on 24 March 2021. The Key Speaker was Mr. Ananda Reddy, CEO, Inner Genius. Mr. Ananda Reddy has an extensive experience of more than two decades in corporate and Education. He is an expert of NEP Implementation 2020 and has published many articles and conducted several seminars for national and International Conferences. The Keynote address was given by Sr. Rose Mary Balappa, Principal, T. John College. The speaker introduction was given by Dr. Dippi Verma, IQAC Director. The Program Overview was done by Dr. Jency Priyadharshany, Assistant Professor, Dept of Management Studies. The Program MC was Ms. Sneha, Assistant Professor, Dept of Management Studies. Dr. Lalitha, Program Co-Ordinator delivered the Vote of Thanks.

WORLD WATER DAY 2021: 22-03-2021

On occasion of WORLD WATER DAY, held on 22nd March 2021, BA Department organised an assembly to create awareness on Value of water by safeguarding water effectively for everyone. The Assembly began with a Sanskrit prayer on water by Dr. Geetha Bhat, Asst. Professor BA Dept, followed by a talk by Mr. Vijay Kumar, Asst. Professor of Psychology, BA Dept. He spoke about the importance of water conservation. Ms. Kalpana K, Asst. Professor of Language, BA Dept spoke about the facts of water as a resource.

Guest Lecture on Balance of Payment & Balance of Trade: 16-03-2021

On 16.03.2021, Department of Commerce in association with IQAC conducted an inter departmental guest lecture on Balance of Payment & Balance of Trade for MCOM 1st Semester students. The guest speaker was Prof Geo George, invited from the Department of Management Studies.

Parents Teachers Meeting: 13-03-2021

On 13.03.2021, T John College Organized a Parents Teachers Meeting for all the UG students at 2 PM. The meeting started with a warm welcome to the parents by Assistant Prof. Priya T, Coordinator, Department of Commerce. The meeting was followed by prayer and a brief talk by Sr. Rose Mary Balappa, Principal T John College.

NIGLI Short Film Competition : 28-02-2021

NIGLI Short Film Competition was held to develop, create awareness and promote Karnataka Tourism, shaped a platform for filmmakers to attain the widest possible audience for their film and to persuade & stimulate aspiring students and independent filmmakers. NIGLI Short Film Competition public screening programs were designed to bring to light the creator as much as the work itself. A commentator introduced all exhibiting films chosen for screening and the filmmakers in turnout were given the occasion to speak about the film to the NIGLI Short Film Competition audiences at the award ceremony which was held at St. Joseph’s Institute of Management and Science auditorium on 28.02.2021 evening at 5.00PM. Dr. Thomas. P. John, Chairman, T. John Group Institutions, along with Sri. C. P. Yogeeswara,Hon. Minister of Tourism, Ecology and Environment, Govt. of Karnataka, Sri. T.K. Anil Kumar IAS, Principal Secretary, Department of Tourism, Govt. of Karnataka Dr. Raksha kumar IAS, director, Department of Tourism, Govt. of Karnataka, Dr. V.G. Joseph, Chancellor, Garden City University, Bangalore, were the dignitaries present in the award ceremony. Four teams participated from T. John Group of Institutions – One from T.
