It is a key subject that plays a crucial role in every engineering domain. It is in fact the art of applying mathematics to complex real-world problems. It combines mathematical theory, practical engineering and scientific computing to address today’s technological challenges. Proper knowledge and practice in mathematics enhance the reasoning capabilities, creative and spatial thinking to a big extent. Having adequate exposure in mathematics helps engineers to devise meaningful designs and blueprints with high precision that would prove to be a perfect foundation for complex structures and numerous other applications including computing and research.
A strong foundation in Mathematics at entry level enables an Engineering student has a fruitful academic career at lateral levels and subsequently makes a correct choice for his / her professional arena.
The subjects that are handled as a part of regular engineering curriculum are Engineering Mathematics, Probability and Statistics, Quantitative techniques and Research methodology. Also, the team members are actively involved in training the students for placements and other competitive exams.
Department of Chemistry offers Engineering Chemistry cater the needs of all Engineering Branches in matters relating to Chemistry at the first year level. The Department has well qualified, experienced and highly motivated faculty members. Department facilitated with well equipped laboratories for academic and research purpose.
Chemistry helps engineers create processes that are environmentally friendly or more profitable and more efficient. With the help of chemistry, engineers create materials and techniques essential in fields such as fuel cell, nanotechnology and bio-engineering.
The Chemistry department is a Visvesvaraya Technological University (VTU) recognized Research center since 2012 and so far two candidates pursuing their Ph.D degree. All the staff members in the department have been actively engaged in the research programmes and published about 35 research papers in various National and International Journals. Department faculties got ‘Best project and project of the year award’ for collaborative research with Mechanical and Civil engineering department.

The Department of Physics is dedicated to providing a variety of physics and engineering curricula for students who are interested in pursuing scientific and technical professions. Engineering physics covers a wide array of specialty topics such as Optics, Quantum Physics, Materials Science, Nanotechnology, Solid-State Physics etc. The discipline is also meant for cross-functionality and bridges the gap between theoretical science and practical engineering with emphasis in research and development, design, and analysis.
