On September 12, 2011 BA V & I Sem students of TJC attended a workshop on BLOG organized by Ms. Pooja Basnett from the Dept. of Languages. The workshop was organized for two hours. For the first hour Ebenezer (V Sem. BA Student, TJC) gave an introduction to blogs and its uses. Ebenezer himself has two prominent blogs to his name where he writes diligently. The two blogs are:
The guest speaker for the workshop was Dr. George Easaw (Principal, TJC) who himself is an ardent blogger. His blog http://george-easaw.blogspot.com/ has 27,000 followers and he updates it daily. Dr. George gave more details on the history of blogging and the changing technology from web 1.0 to web 2.0. He also spoke about micro blogging like Twitter and other social networking sites. This discussion was an eye opener for I Sem. students since most of them did not indulge in blogging and were now encouraged to do so.
In the second hour, the students went to MCA lab to get a hands-on experience in blogging. For many it was the start of their blogging career though there is a long way to go before they become ardent bloggers in the social world of blogging with a fan following of their own.
