Management Dept of T.John College conducted a one day seminar titled ‘IS IT A SILVER LINING AFTER RECESSION’ on 25th February, 2011 at the BHM seminar Hall. It was a remarkable moment as it was the first of its kind program conducted by the Department.

37 participants/ faculties from various colleges like Acharya College, AMC College, MLA College, SSMRV College, RV College, Ramanagaram College and other colleges presented their papers related to the above theme with Dr. Nagarajan, Director Management Dept., TJIT and Prof Sriram, Dean, TJBS as moderators.

Seminar was inaugurated by Dr. Thomas John, the Chairman of T.John Group of Institutions. The Key note address was given by Dr. G.S.Anandan, the principal of AMC College, Bangalore. Wing Comdr. [Retd] P.Sambashivam, Campus Director was the dignitary present.

A lecture on Life Cycle of Software Industry by Mr. Murali SR, Associate General Manager, HCL Technologies was followed by a session from Prof Chandra Mohan in the afternoon.

A Panel Discussion was organized from 2 pm to discuss the pros and cons of Recession. The panelists were Prof. Sukumar Naik (Principal TJBS), Dr. S.Sridharan (Principal TIMS), Prof. Machado (Director, BHM Dept, TJC), Mr. Vivek (Venture Capitalist) and Dr. Alice Mani, (SSL, Dept. of Commerce, Christ University). The panel discussed various aspects of the topic ‘IS IT A SILVER LINING AFTER RECESSION’

Management Students from T.John College and T.John Institute of Management also participated in the seminar.

The paper presenters were appreciated their participation with certificates of participation.

The program was conducted under the guidance of Principal Dr. George Easaw and Prof. M.S.Ranganatha Swamy, HOD. The program would not have been a grand success without the extensive support of faculty members namely Prof. Chandrakala V, Prof. Aradhana and all other faculties members of Management Department.
