T.John College of Nursing under the aegis of Enigma 08 organised a symposium on Critical Neuro Care, on 18th Feb 2008 as a part of the fest UMANG. Dr. Thomas .P. John, Chairman, T.John Group of Institutions inaugurated the symposium in the esteemed presence of the Campus Director, Wing Commander (Rtd) David Yohan, guest speaker Dr. Abhaya Kumar, Consultant Neurosurgeon and Prof. Neelavathi, Principal, T.John College of Nursing.

During the Inaugural Address, Chairman Dr. Thomas.P.John emphasized on the imperative role played by the Nursing professionals in the healthcare arena. Further he stated that this symposium on Critical Neurocare would prove to be an eye opener for the Nursing Community. He also introduced the guest speaker of the Ist Session Dr. Abhaya Kumar who is specialized in Spinal Surgery from United Kingdom and had also been conducting training programmes for the nurses at United Kingdom. Campus Director, during his address, spoke on the relevance of Neurocare in today’s scenario.

Dr. Abhaya Kumar’s talk focused on Critical Neurocare in general and Brain tumour in particular. His eloquent speech threw light on the pre operative and post operative care with regard to brain tumour.
