One day Work Shop on “Project Based Learning” organized by


Mrs. Manjusha N. Mahamune, Asst. Professor in Information Science and Engineering Department had attended a 1 day workshop on “Project Based Learning”on 13 January 2018, at Bangalore.

This workshop was intended to create “Structured simulation for active learning and effective outcome”. Four keys for this are

  1. Balance of discipline and freedom.
  2. Ability to replicate and scale.
  3. Ability to productize.
  4. Ability to track and evaluate.


The guest speaker for day was, “Mr. Seetharaman T.G Chair professor in the area of energy”, from Department of Civil Engineering, KSIID.”  Hegavevaluable inputs regarding “Outcome Based Education –Issues and Challenges”. In his speech he focused on Knowledge -Skills and Attitude.

Afternoon session was hands on “How to design and develop project for students “. In this session hands on was on

  2. Project Description.
  3. An overview of the problem statement
  4. A Brief overview of the solution
  • How is the project industry relevant
  1. What is the scope of this project?
  2. What is the outcome/output of this project.
  3. Broad overview of how students will solve this problem(start to end)
  • What Concepts are you taking away after the completion of the project?

The session was very interactive and brainstorming hands on sessions where we could design projects for students on which they can apply their skills and complete the project within a span of 3 to 4 weeks.
