Blood Donation and free health checkup Camp by TJIT

National Service Scheme (NSS) Cell and Youth Red Cross Unit of T. John Institute of Technology jointly organized two days blood donation camp on 9th and 10th October 2017. Narayana Blood bank of Narayana health city being a hospital partner for the event provided necessary facilities.

Inaugural session of Blood donation and free health checkup was organized in Auditorium, TJIT on 9th October 2017. Dr. Rajesh, NSS Programme Officer, TJIT welcomed the Chief guest Dr. Thippeswamy H.N., Principal, TJIT, Mr. Shankaranand Hiremath, Coordinator, YRC, Camp Coordinator, Narayana Health City, Bommasandra Industrial Area, Bangalore, Dr. Rajesh, Narayana Blood bank and NSS volunteers for the event. Chief Guest Dr. Thippeswamy addressed the gathering and briefed about the importance of blood donation. Mr. Bhanuprakash, praised the interest shown by college in conducting blood donation camp for noble cause. He briefed about the Do’s and Don’ts regarding blood donation to the audience. Vote of thanks was delivered by Mr. Shankaranand Hiremath, He thanked Dr. Thippeswamy H.N., Principal, TJIT, Mr. Roy M. Raju, Administrative Officer, T. John Group and all the HOD’s for the overwhelming support for the event.

All the students and faculty members of T. John Institute of Technology had undergone health checkup such as blood group, hemoglobin level, Blood pressure, BMI, RH etc., during the camp. Students, teaching and Non-teaching staffs actively involved in camp and around 200 units of blood were collected in the blood donation camp. Donors were provided with refreshment and a certificate of appreciation by Narayana health city.

On 10th October 2017, closing ceremony of camp was organized in the Auditorium of TJIT. Prof. Suresh addressed the gathering and thanked Mr. Bhanuprakash, camp coordinator, NSS Cell, Youth Red Cross Wing, Heads of the department for their efforts in the successful completion of camp. Principal on behalf of TJIT received a memento and certificate of appreciation from Narayana health city. Mr. Bhanuprakash thanked Dr. Thippeswamy H.N., Principal, TJIT and College Management for providing opportunity to conduct camp and assured to arrange cardiac health checkup in college for the faculty members.
