Industrial visit to “Karnataka Soaps and Detergents Ltd”, Rajaji Nagar, Bangalore

TJIT Mechanical Engg. Department organized an industrial visit to “Karnataka Soaps and Detergents Ltd”, Rajaji Nagar, Bangalore for students of 3rd Semester, on 20th September 2017. The industrial visit was arranged by Prof. Gurusiddayya, and students were accompanied by Prof. Anand S L.

The Government Sandalwood Oil factory was established by the Maharaja of Mysore His Highness Nalwadi Krishna Raja Wodeyar and Diwan Sir, M. Visvesvaraya, during the year 1916 at Mysore, to extract Sandalwood Oil from Sandalwood. Karnataka Soaps and Detergents Ltd completes 100 years of providing mesmerizing products based on sandal wood extracts to date, with wide range of product offerings.

Mr. Balakrishna, R&D department briefed students about the history of Karnataka Soaps and Detergents Ltd. He explained sandalwood oil extraction process and its importance in enhancing the product quality. He briefed about the production process of soap and took students through the production plant.
