As a part of Blaze 2017, Department of Management studies, T.John College had conducted “Business Quiz” on 16th March 2017 which was a grand success. The quiz was hosted by an alumnus of IIM-Bangalore Mr.Thejaswi Udupa currently working as Head - Product and Technology at Buildkar, an online marketplace for construction materials.
Department of Management Studies (MBA), TJC, organised one-day In-house Workshop on Effective Handling of Academic Projects for IV Semester MBA Students on 15th March 2017. The very purpose of the workshop was to acquaint students with the academic project work, which they will be carrying out in this semester as per Bangalore University curriculum.
The MBA department of T.John College conducted a guest lecture on Entrepreneurship for the first semester MBA students on 24th January 2017. The guest lecture was organized as part of the department’s effort to build the entrepreneurial spirit among the management students. The resource person, being a young serial entrepreneur was able to strike the right cords with the students and hit the right pitch, ensuring interaction and involvement of the students.
BSE in collaboration Lotus Know wealth conducted half a day ‘Capital Market Awareness and Investors Education Programme January 20, 2017 .for MBA I Sem students The aim of the program was to generate awareness towards investment in stock market among young India. The resource person of the day was Mr Rahul Dhawan.
The Management, Principal, Staff and Students of T.John College take this opportunity to congratulate Mr. AFNAS K, student of Ist Semester MBA, for winning Gold Medal in the Bangalore University Inter collegiate Judo100+ category. The event was conducted at Directorate of Physical Education, Central College Cricket Ground, Bengaluru on 1st October, 2016.
On 23rd September 2016, all 1st and 3rd semester students of the MCom course went for an Industrial visit to Dairy Day Icecreams Pvt. Ltd. The production unit is situated inside Karnataka Industries Development Board complex located at Harohalli, Karnataka. The students were taken around the different sections of the factory and were informed about the operational procedures undertaken and followed to ensure quality production. They were also taken to the packaging and dispatch sections to understand methods of inventory management followed.
The first semester students of MBA from T John College visited Dairy Classic Ice-cream Pvt Ltd on 22/9/ 2016 as part of their three days orientation program . This visit to the company helped the students to get experience on practical simulation and overview of activities carried out by companies’ .The product was Ice-cream. The Quality Manager explained the students about the quality steps taken by company to maintain the quality standards of Ice-cream. Further Operation
In tune with the T.John College MBA department’s declared aim to enhance the students leadership and team skills, a variety of training program were organised for the new batch of first semester MBA students on 20th and 21st September 2016. A set of selected and proficient faculty members from the MBA department were the trainers for this program.
A guest lecture was organized for the MBA Students on Orientation to Specializations on 14th May 2016. It was delivered by Mr. Syed Golam Gaous, currently working as the Regional Manager – HR (East and South India) at Indiabulls Housing Finance Ltd. The second semester students of MBA attended this lecture and gained a meaningful insight on parameters while selecting and specialization and the scope in each specialization. Such value added program benefiting the students has been possible due the support extended by the Principal Dr.Shikha Tiwari.
A guest lecture was organized for the MBA Students on investment banking on 07th May 2016. It was delivered by Mr. Abhinit Kumar, currently engaged as the Assistant Vice President at Imarticus Learning. The third semester students of MBA attended this lecture and gained a meaningful insight on Investment Banking concepts, scope and required competency. Such value added program benefiting the students has been possible due the support extended by the Principal Dr.Shikha Tiwari.
