ALUMNI ENGAGEMENT FOR RAHUL DAVID PILJEN AND ALUMNI ENGAGEMENT FOR ROHAN PILLAI
A workshop on "Broadcast Journalism" was conducted for students of BA-JEP. Mr. Biju Mathew from 'Inivati' conducted this 4 day workshop. This course was aimed to help the students to get hands on experience on live News Recording and prepare the students to edit the footages for telecasting .
Undergraduate students of IV and VI Semester, B. A. Journalism course, along with faculty members, from NAAC accredited "A" grade college, T. John College, Bengaluru, visited the Bengaluru bureau of The New Indian Express at Queens Road, followed by another visit to the TNIE printing press, at Bommasandra on 09 March 2017.
BA Dept. hosted Mr. Milind Siraj, Director/Writer to screen his first short film titled"Kamban": 07-03-2017
On the 7th of March, 2017, the department of BA hosted Mr. Milind Siraj, Director/Writer of short films, to screen his first short film titled, Kamban, for students from Department of BA, Department of BBA, and Department of BHM.
On the 13th of February, 2017, Dr. Yoganand Rao presided over a guest seminar for students of fourth and sixth semester students of BA (JEP) course. Dr. Rao is a senior academician based in Bangalore. Currently, he is associated with the post-graduation department studies at Jain University. He specializes in the field of English Literature.
Industrial Visit - “Times Litfest “2017 Organized by Reputed News Organization Times Of India : 11-02-2017
On 11th February 2017 the students of BA-JEP had an industrial visit as part of their Optional English curriculum.They visited the “Times Litfest “2017 organized by reputed news organization Times Of India at Jayamahal Palace, Bangalore.
The department of BA(JEP) at T. John College invited Mr. Anish Victor for a workshop at the college premises. Mr. Anish is a theatre artist in Bangalore. He has previously conducted workshops across many colleges in Bangalore.
On the 1st of February, 2017, alumnus, Mr. Joel Samuel Jacob of the BA(JEP) course held an interaction session with the current fourth and sixth semester students of BA(JEP) course. Head of the department, Asst. Prof. Pavithra R. arranged for the same.
Asst. Prof. Pavithra R., accompanied with four students from the VI semester, BA(JEP) attended a national conference on “Youth And Dysphoria: Coping With The Challenges of Depression in Everyday Living” on 17th January, 2017, at Jyoti Nivas College(Autonomous), Bengaluru.
On the occasion of Vishv Hindi Diwas 2017 AIMS Institute of Higher Education organized a workshop on University Hindi Syllabus for IV Semester in collaboration with Gyan Kiran Shikkshak Sangh, Bangalore University. AIMS Institute had invited Asst. Prof. Mr. Arvind Kumar Gupta, our Hindi Faculty of Language Department TJC as a speaker.
