On 15-feb-2017, Department of Computer Applications had organized a seminar on “BIGDATA” for students of 6th semester BCA, 4th & 6th semester MCA. The spoke person was Mr. Priyanshu, from PrwaTech.
On 6th and 7th February 2017, Department of Computer Applications had organized a workshop on “SOFTWARE TESTING” for 4th and 6th semester students of BCA. The resource persons were Mr. Anantha Somayaji and Mr. Jayasimha from UNIQVAL technology.
On 31/01/2017, 6th semester BCA students of TJC - Dept. of CA – organized “IT Quiz” event for 4th semester BCA students. The Quiz was conducted by Rishad, Nandu & Vinay of 6th sem BCA and the content of the event covered topics like IT awareness and new technologies, code debugging, finding the company logos and its catch word.
On 25/Jan/2017, 2012 batch alumni Mr.Ningthoujam Sobharaj gave a guest lecture on “DESIRE TO SURVIVE” for 6th sem BCA students of TJC. He addressed his juniors about the new job “Bike Rental” that he owns as an entrepreneur, this struggle towards succession in the field at the initial stage and it’s slow and steady progress later, the support-experience-lessons that he learnt from the people during the construction phase of his company.
On 11 Jan 2017, The Computer Application department, TJC conducted a guest lecture on Project Development for the final year BCA students. The lecture was delivered by Mr. Nagendra from mPower Global. The students were given complete knowledge about how to start a project, the languages and databases used to implement the project.
Faculty Development Program – Two Day National Workshop on Consultation and Discourse on Teaching: 19-10-2016
Dr.Felcy Judith, Ms. V. Bhuvana of Computer Applications and Mr.Justy of BHM department attended the two day National workshop on Consultation and Discourse on Teaching organized by IQAC of Christ University on 19-20th October , 2016. The two day workshop was well organized and the resource persons who conducted the various sessions had rich teaching experience. The first day of the workshop covered various topics such as Motivation in teaching, Teaching skills, Effective classroom communication skills, Class room management, Discourse on effective ways of teaching. The participants were from various parts of the Country. All the sessions were lively, filled with debates and all questions were met with open mindedness and answered effectively.
IISC recognized as one of the most prestigious institute of India was founded by Sir. JamshedJi Tata well known for its advanced research in Science & industries has its branches all over India. Industrial visit to IISC (Indian Institute of Science), Bangalore was organized by Department of Computer Applications on 14/October/2016 for both 3rd and 5th semester BCA students. Transport facility was arranged by the T. John management were faculties Dr. Felcy Judith, Ms. Jayaprabha and Dr. Chandrasekhar accompanied along with the students to IISC campus.
On 4/10/2016, Dept. of Computer Applications had organized a guest lecture for MCA students on “Research Trends in IT Field” addressed by Ms. Poornima Patel – Assistant Professor at VTU Regional Center (Bangalore). The lecture started with an elaborate discussion on the research methodology. The speaker detailed the approach, various procedures with relevant real time examples. She detailed the need for literature survey and guided the student’s on websites for accessing online journals.
Department of Computer Applications had organized a guest lecture on “Online free courses” for 5th sem BCA and 3rd sem MCA students by Ms. Mitu Arora from Shaw Academy on 17th August 2016. The overall speech was about promoting and motivating our students to take up free online certificate courses which are helpful for academics and as well to face interview in the upcoming final semesters.
Visit to Workshop Conducted by St. Claret College On “Microprocessor & It’s Research Accepts”: 09-08-2016
On 9th August 2016, Dr. Felcy Judith along with 5th sem BCA students (Shivam, Keerthy, and Beena) from Computer Applications department visited to a workshop “PRAJNAN 2016” conducted by St. Claret College, Jalahalli on “Microprocessor and its research aspects”. Workshop was a knowledge gaining session for both our students and faculty, which had both theory and practical session.
