This Entrepreneurship week was organized by E-Cell of T. John College. E-week is an initiative of NEN of Wadhwani Foundations. All the faculties and students participated in the event excitedly and enthusiastically along with students of other colleges.

The event started with welcoming guests with E-week badges. Medicinal plants were given to all guests. Dr. Thomas P . John, Chairman, Wg. Cdr. P. Sambasivan, Campus Director and Dr. Nilanjana Basu, Vice Principal gave message about to promoting entrepreneurship in India. Asst Prof Aradhna Yadav, E Cell coordinator of T.John College along with Mr Sunil Sarangi , NEN consultant read out the E-Pledge, which was taken 200 members of audience.

The National conference on Technology Awareness Entrepreneurship Development in Biotechnology was inaugurated by Dr. Ravi Kumar, Xcyton Diagnostics, Bangalore. He spoke about Entrepreneurship in Medical Diagnostics. Mr. Sanjay Bettadpura, Polyclone Bioservices Pvt Ltd spoke about promoting Entrepreneurship in Biotechnology. Dr. Rajagopal spoke about Applications of Microbial technology in Industry.

Later in the day a competition on Business plan proposal for students in Biotechnology was organized. The programme ended with the speech given by Dr. Geetha, Labland Biotech, Mysore. On commercial Plant tissue culture. Entrepreneurship week has brought enthusiasm among students of T. John College.

Go Green:A tree plantation drive took place in the campus on 11th Feb with the help of Ms Janet “ Trees for Free” an NGO working for the cause of greener planet.The trees planted in the campus were sponsored by Yahoo. Com . Wg. Cdr. P. Sambasivan, Campus Director , Dr George Easaw Principal , Dr. Nilanjana Basu, Vice Principal , Mr Vasigaran and Mr Punacha actively participated in planting sapling of fruit bearing trees.The event was coordinated by Prof Yashashwani and students of FAD Department.

TJC Wave challenge: Students in the campus exhibited their entrepreneurship skills by selling chocolates , eatables, juices, eco friendly jewelry , garments , games shop etc. These product were prepared by students themselves .Students from BHM , Mgmt Dept , FAD and Nursing college participated. Mr Sandipan Mitra founder of Hungryzone.com (justeat.com )judged the best shop and also spoke to students.He urged them to go ahead with the “ideas” of business they had in mind.

Joe Rosh (French Journalist ) along with Ms Arti (NEN), Ms Mekhala (NEN) , Mr Sunil Sarangi (NEN) were also present on this occasion . The event was coordinated by Mr Sridhar and Students of BHM dept.

Your Company and your name : A contest on Business plan to promote new ideas for entrepreneurship ,there were 30 group entries for the contest. Each group was given 10 mins time to present. The best business proposal was judged by Ms Shradha Sharma founder of yourstory.in

The day concluded with prize distribution ceremony for entire e-week events. Dr George Easaw , Principal T.John College along with Ms Shradha Sharma gave away the prizes.

E-Award cermony at Jyothi Niwas college: Students of T.John College were invited to be a part of NEN award ceremony ,the event was hosted by Wadhani Foundation. Students were inspired by hearing to Laura Parkin CEO -NEN ,Dr Romesh Wadhwani CEO –Wadhwani Foundation and Kiran Mazumdar Shaw Chairman Biocon Ltd.

Times of India ,The Hindu, Malayalam Manorma , City Plus covered all campus activities during E-week with the help of media agencies.

E-Week in T.John College was organized by students and department coordinators for E-cell TJC under the leadership of Asst Prof Aradhna Yadav.
