World AIDS Day

The Languages Department conducted a Poster Competition on December 1, 2010 to create awareness on AIDS, a disease which is spreading all over the world.

Students from various departments participated in this competition. The 1st prize was won by Sonam (II Sem BCA) and 2nd prize was given to Geethanjali (II Sem BCA).

On the same day, the nature club of the Department of Biosciences had organized an “AIDS Awareness Program” campaign to educate people about prevention against AIDS.

In this regard pamphlets were distributed at all NICE LIMITED toll booths to educate the truck drivers and also other LMV passengers against AIDS.

25 students from MSc I semester, Biotechnology accompanied by 3 faculties Ms.Sharon, Ms.Devi, Mrs.Rashmi took an active step by participating and distributing the pamphlets at all the toll booths.

The General Manger of NICE Limited, Mr.Bhaskaran appreciated the efforts taken by T.John College students and staff to organize this activity.

Awareness on AIDS by NSS unit

NSS unit on the occasion of World AIDS day on 01st Dec, 2010, organized a campaign to bring social awareness of the myths and stigmas surrounding this epidemic.

NSS unit printed some facts about HIV & AIDS and distributed and to students and faculty of T.John college. Volunteers distributed red ribbons to all the students and faculty and asked them to wear it to commemorate people affected with AIDS.

The campaign was conducted under the guidance of Mr. Y. Muralidhar Reddy, coordinator, NSS Unit.
