The Department of Management (VTU-MBA) conducted a workshop on Interview Preparation on 25th September 2010 at MBA Seminar Hall. The resource person was Mr. Jose Jocob. Former HR Manager, Cognizant Technology Solutions & Management Consultant of Kalayil Consulting Company, Bangalore. Dr.G. Nagarajan, Professor & Head, VTU-MBA welcomed the resource person and it was attended by the Students of I & III Sem MBA of VTU.
The workshop is part of a series that has focused on selecting a career and pursuing it to a rewarding job. With past workshops helping the students choose a career and write a resume, the current program offers students tips once they have progressed to the interview stage. Mr. Jose Jocob had advised the participants how to prepare for an interview, how to develop answers for interview questions, and what questions to ask the interviewer.
The seminar was on interview preparation, Mock Interviews, Dress code, documentation of certificates, Confidence of delivering answers, team development and leadership & way of communication. The students were benefited a lot by this workshop. The Job Interview Workshop organized by department for the benefit of final year students to get ready for placements. It was conducted in three parts. Mr. Jose Jocob, first shared with students on the preparation required for an interview, and the “dos” and “don’ts” for a job interview; then two individual mock interviews were conducted by him. Finally practical feedbacks from the Mr. Jose Jocob and the guest interviewers on the mock interviews were given and there was a Question & Answer session that welcomed questions from all participants.
