NSS Special Camp by TJC at mattanalli, Bangalore Rural
T.John college had conducted a Special N.S.S Camp from March 25 - 31 2013 at Mattanalli, Sarjapur Hobli Anekal Taluk , Bangalore Rural.
This report contains details of the particular activities conducted during the camp.
DAY 1 :-
On March 25th 2013, the NSS students team of TJC along with Mr Vinod (NSS Coordinator) and the Sarpanch of the village inagurated the NSS camp program at Government Primary School Mr Venkat spoke to the gathering about the importance of education and its benefits. The main aim of this speech was to prevent dropouts from school as this is regarded as one of the pressing matters in the villages today.
DAY 2 :-
On March 26th 2013, NSS volunteers cleaned the school ground to make it usable for the students. They removed all the unwanted plants and thorny bushes so that the students playing in the ground.
DAY 3 :-
On March 27th 2013, the volunteers cleaned the sides of the roads to ensure the smooth running of vehicles and The team also cleaned the drains by removing the plastics that were blocking the drains.
On March 28th 2013, the NSS volunteers worked on the area which is allocated for building a park. The team spent the day weeding out unwanted bushes and plants to make the ground ready for constructing the park.
DAY 5 :-
On March 29th 2013, the volunteers cleaned the temple premises on a the special request by the villagers. The team removed all the non-degradeable items which will affect nature and cleared the passage to the temple.
DAY 6 :-
On March 30th 2013, the volunteers visited schools in nearby villages. The team also spent the time with primary school students encouraging them to study well. Snacks were distributed to the small children who appreciated it very much.
DAY 7 :-
On March 31st 2013, Volunteers went around the village creating awareness on education asking the villagers to send their children to schools. The team also distributed stationery items to the village children hoping it will help them in their acadamics.
