The Management and Languages Dept. of T. John College organized a Panel Discussion on Corruption: Causes and Remedies from 2 to 4 PM on 1st June 2011 at BHM Seminar Hall.

First the PG Students of MBA, MCA and M.Sc spoke on the various causes that are preventing India from developing into a great nation. They also spoke on the students 'role of trying to eliminate the various causes. Next the expert panel consisting of the Vice-Principal Dr. Nilanjana Basu, the moderator Dr. Amlan Nayak and Dr. George Easaw aired their views along with vivid PPTs. The Chief guest Lt. Cdr. Navin Jacob, ADC to the Governor of Karnataka spoke at length about the erosion of values, poverty, greed, scams etc.

The Chairman, Dr. Thomas P. John stressed on the fact that it is every citizen's duty to be involved in the eradication of corruption. He reminded the audience that we could do our bit by voting for the right leaders. Two students, Mr. Sunetra Chowdhury (MBA) and Ms. Archana Singh (MCA) were given prizes for the best speeches.

The Panel Discussion proved to be very fruitful and lively. It gave the students, faculty and guests food for thought and certainly created awareness on how to get rid of corruption in India.
