NATURE CLUB: Celebrating Christmas with Children from Govt. Lower Primary School

School children from Govt. Lower Primary School Doddakammanahalli visited the T. John College campus to celebrate the spirit of Christmas through fun activities and experiential learning on December 14, 2011. The students visited the Hotel Management Department Bakery, where they were taught the art of baking a Christmas cake by Mr. Sridhar. They thoroughly enjoyed the experience; as much as, the piece of the cake which they saw being made in front of them. This was followed by a visit to the Fashion and Apparel Designing department which witnessed a lot of enthusiasm in the students, on knowing the opportunities that this field of study has to offer. At the Biotech Department students watched movies on Environment and played games while they were given refreshments. This was followed by a session of greeting card making which the children thoroughly enjoyed.

Their day at T. John College ended with the Christmas celebrations and Carol singing. It was an enriching experience for the Organizers: Nature Club (Department Of Biotechnology) and spirit of the festival season was brought out by the ‘caring and sharing’ shown by the Nature Club members. The Children were handed over small gifts and they parted with a smile of joy in their face. The satisfaction that comes through such small activities can go a mile in strengthening characters of Individuals, which the T. John College has been constantly trying to shape.
