KMF Visit

On December 14, 2011 MBA I Semester students of T. John College were taken for an industrial visit to KMF, Bangalore (i.e., Bangalore Dairy) which is second largest diary in country after AMUL, it is totally automated, with maximum of 9 Lakhs liters processing capacity a day. We reached the dairy by 10.30 AM.
Mr. Ranga Swamy, Dy. Manager, explained the complete milk processing from procurement from rural areas till it reaches mega dairy in Bangalore City. He explained the various stages of quality control checks that happen at different levels i.e village level during procurement, at chilling centers, at the arrival in mega dairy and at packing. He spoke about various processes like the whole pasteurization process, Production Cycle, and Supply Chain Management. The information was disseminated to students in a professional manner.
The students and faculty were allowed to visit the plant layout, butter making, packing, dispatch etc. They enjoyed the learning experience. Faculty members of management department Ms. Chandrakala and Ms. Mohini Bhatt accompanied the students. Such Visit will bridge the gap between Industry and Institutions.
