A seminar on "Inflation And Its Impact On Indian Economy" was held on April 21, 2011 at T. John Group of Institutions from 2.00 to 4.00 pm. Dr. Sankarshan Basu – Professor & Chairperson (Finance and Control Area) of IIM Bangalore chaired the seminar as Chief Guest. Dr. Thomas P. John, Chairman, T. John Group of Institutions, inaugurated the seminar. Four groups of MBA students consisting of 4 students in each group ie., from T. John College, T. John Institute of Technology, T. John Institute of Management & Science and T. John Business School gave a presentation on the above subject.

Dr. S. Basu gave deliverance to the students on the above subject. Dr. Basu stated that liquidity is necessary for economic growth and if liquidity is made available, there will be certain level of inflation. He emphasized on the present scenario of food inflation and said that poor agricultural growth rate is the major case of high food inflation in India.

The total no. of faculties/ students participated in the seminar was approximately 200.
