As part of Academic Curriculum, TIMS had organized an Industrial visit on August 9, 2011 at Parle Products Pvt, Ltd., Bangalore for B. Com and BBM first semester students. The official organizers were Prof. Sunil B. Rao and Ms. Debasree Sen from the department for the visit along with relevant assignment. Students had a great experience and learned the entire manufacturing process of biscuit and toffee making.

Students went through the production unit in detail starting from mixing of raw materials till packaging of the products. They were explained about the range of Parle Products and its excellent quality oriented manufacturing system. They were also been exposed to the facts pertinent to the company history, about the founders, number of units in India, certification, numerous national and international achievements and many more. Parle parivar had organized an interactive animated video session especially for the students to introduce different varieties of Parle biscuits, cookies and toffees. In that session they also taught them the process of preparing confectioneries in some simple and easy steps. Students enjoyed the live session and the response was overwhelming. At the end of the session assignment were given by TIMS department to understand what student’s had grasped during the entire session.

Entire visit was informative, enriching and useful for the first semester under graduate students in gaining the practical knowledge on Production process as well as Brand management.
