Ethnic Day was celebrated in T. John College on Tuesday September 7, 2010.

The day was intended to give an opportunity for students of various ethnicities, states and countries to display their culture and traditions.

Celebrations were kickstarted by welcome address by the Campus Director, Principal and Vice-Principal of T. John College. The Chairman also conveyed his wishes on the occasion.

Programmes consisted of Ethnic dances (Solo and Group), Ethnic Song (Solo and Group) and Fashion shows, held on the lawns of T. John College.

Parallely, Rangoli competition and Cookery Competitions were also organized in the Biotech Dept Corridor and BHM Kitchen respectively.

Prizes were awarded to the best candidates in each category.

On the occasion, the `Best Teacher’ awards were also announced. For U.G. sections, Mr Sourish Jana of BHM department was adjudged the best teacher and for P.G. sections, Mrs Mohini Bhat of QT department was declared the best teacher.

Faculty and students came dressed in their ethnic wear for the occasion and enthusiastically participated in the events. International students also displayed their talents in dancing, singing & fashion shows. The team from Rwanda won the II prize in group dance.

Mr. & Ms. Ethnic were also chosen from among the participants.

During the afternoon session, students and faculty of each department celebrated `Teacher Day’ in their respective departments. Games and competitions were organized for faculty by the students.
