On July 1, 2011, The Department of Biosciences, T. John College, organized a Convocation Ceremony for 23 M.Sc Biotechnology students who completed their Post Graduate Diploma in Bioinformatics conducted by the Biozone Research Institute of Chennai, from March-June 2011.

The ceremony was graced by the presence of the MD of Biozone, Chennai, Mrs. Flourida Tilton, Ms Lakshmi and Mr. Aneesh. The Campus Director of TJGI Retd. Wng. Cmdr. P. Sambasivan, Principal of TJC Dr. George Easaw and Vice-Principal Dr. Nilanjana Basu were also present at the occasion.

The ceremony began with a welcome note to all the guests, teachers and students. Then Mrs. Flourida Tilton was invited to speak a few words. She appreciated the initiatives taken up by the college, the support and encouragement by the Dr. Thomas P. John, Chairman, the Campus Director, the Principal and the students for their constant endeavor and hard work throughout the course. The Campus Director also gave healthy advice to the students. The Principal and the Vice-Principal congratulated them and wished them good luck for their future.

Mr. Babu N from the Biosciences Department was credited by the guests and students for coordinating the whole course and making it a success. His hard work and dedication was greatly appreciated.

Certificates were then awarded to the students by the honorable guests. The program concluded with a vote of thanks to all those who were present, this was followed by a photo session.
