Bangalore University Yoga Competitions 2012



Understanding the importance of yoga, T. John Institute of Management & Science conducted Bangalore University Inter collegiate YOGA Competitions on 12 & 13 January, 2012 at Campus Auditorium. 25 students from the various colleges affiliated to Bangalore University participated in the competition. Officials from the Karnataka Yoga Association had taken the initiative to bring out the results in Men & Women section.

Ms. Hema (Little Flower School, Rajajinagar) the winner of ‘World Yoga Championship’ gave yoga demonstration in the inauguration function which set a high benchmark for the events to follow.

Wg. Cdr (Rtd) P. Sambashivan (Campus Director), Dr. B S Johri (Principal-T. John Institute of Management & Science), Dr George Easaw (Principal, T. John College), Dr. Nilanjana Basu (Vice Principal, T. John College), Mr. Chinni Sreedhara & Mr. Govinda Kumar, (Physical Education Directors) were present for the inaugural function.

At the end of the competition, prize distribution was organized by the Department of Physical Education & Sports. Wing Cdr. (Retd.) Mr. P. Sambashivam (Campus Director, TJGI), Dr. B S Johri (Principal, T. John Institute of Management & Science), Mr. Sunil B Rao (Head of the Dept., TIMS) and Shri. Shiva Shankar, (President, Karnataka Yoga Association) handed over the Gold, Silver, Bronze Medals & Certificate to the Winners.

The yoga competition was a great success. The audience included Physical Education Directors of various colleges and participants. Everyone enjoyed the event immensely. Dr. R. Munireddy, Director of Physical Education, Bangalore University appreciated the team behind the event. Principal & Dept of Physical Education thanked all those who were involved in the tournament which brought great laurels to T. John Institute of Management & Science.
