Independence Day Seminar
Two students of M.Sc. BT III sem (Ms. Sophia & Ms. Rakhindu) presented a talk on “Growth of Biotechnology in India – pre and post independence” on August 10, 2010 at 2.00 pm. The talk gave overview of the history of biotechnology from making of wine and cheese in ancient Egypt to the present era of gene therapy and genetic engineering. The talk also introduced the various scientists who have contributed to the growth of biotechnology. The speakers touched upon the emerging opportunities in this field of science.
