A Four Days Animal Cell Culture workshop was arranged by the department of Biosciences for the students of MSc Biotechnology. Training was conducted by Biozone Research Technologies, Chennai. Around 24 Students of M.Sc Biotech III Sem and along with a Sr. Faculty Mr. N. Babu Participated in the Workshop. It was started off on October 7, 2011 morning and was successfully completed on the 10th October 2011.The session was from morning 10:00am to 6:00pm.

Training was mainly based on MTT assay, NO assay and also the DNA fragmentation technique. Students gained a thorough knowledge of handling different instruments like micropippetting, micro-plate reader and preparation of media etc. All the activities really improved the capability of students. Molecular docking class was conducted by Mr.Sameer Hassan which aided us in Bio-informatics. After the completion of training session an outing was arranged on 11th Oct to places like Mahabalipuram, crocodile park, tiger caves, Kovalam beach. we also visited some historic monuments like panchrathas.
